Day 1 of Exploring Jackson County and Surrounding Area was a blast!  Took the kiddos to Pleasant Lake Playground; located in Henrietta Township, 10 Miles north of Downtown Jackson. Pleasant Lake is a 296 acre public lake with a boat launch, public beach, campground, and playground. Close to the campground is Hankerd Hills Gold Course which boasts 27 holes to accommodate for various skill levels. The restaurant is open year round for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Following the playground, even though it’s winter time, of course the youngsters were hot from all that running around, so we decided to go to Cold Stone Creamery. Located just across from Westwood Mall on Michigan Ave. The service was great, and surprisingly quick considering we had a large group, and the staff did a great job!

To work off some of that sugar, we went to a new arcade in the Jackson Crossing “Pac Man Zone.” It was loud, and bright, but it was SO much FUN! They provide a kiosk to purchase cards which you load with the money for the games. The best was definitely the wall-sized Pac-Man (or Galaga if you like Galaga), that is right in the door. One thing that I really liked about the arcade was that you can book birthday parties there. After playing, my favorite, Skee-ball, I rounded up the kiddos and we completed our first Jackson adventure.
